Philip McManus

Philip McManus is an Associate at Allen Norton & Blue’s Miami Office where he represents public and private sector employers in all aspects of labor and employment law. Prior to joining the firm, Philip served as an Investigator with the Department of Labor. Additionally, Philip served as a Federal Air Marshal and Immigration Officer with the Department of Homeland Security.

Philip’s practice includes defending employers confronted with lawsuits, government investigations, administrative charges, discrimination claims, union-related issues, and internal complaints. He has represented clients in federal and state court, arbitration forums, and before administrative agencies including the Department of Labor, Florida Commission on Human Relations, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, National Labor Relations Board, Department of Business & Professional Regulation, and the Public Employees Relations Commission.

During his tenure with the government, Philip supervised and conducted hundreds of investigations and compliance actions of public and private employers, federal contractors and subcontractors, and participants. He has experience representing the legal interests of agricultural employers, and their unique employment law compliance issues under federal, state and local law. This includes compliance with the federal temporary guest worker programs.

Philip earned his Juris Doctor from Florida International University’s College of Law, where he made the dean’s list and earned book awards in contracts and conflict of laws. He received his bachelor’s degree, cum laude, in Philosophy from the State University of New York, College at Oneonta. He is a former U.S. Marine who served from 2001-2005.
