Funmi Ojetayo

Funmi Ojetayo is an experienced trial and appellate attorney who advises public and private sector employers on a broad range of labor and employment matters. His practice includes defending clients in complex civil and administrative litigation, as well as representing management in grievances, arbitration, employee discipline and discharge actions, unfair labor practice charges, and disputes arising under federal and state employment statutes. Known for his blend of strategic insight and practical advocacy, Funmi helps employers navigate evolving regulatory landscapes with confidence and clarity.

Prior to joining Allen Norton & Blue, Funmi served as Deputy General Counsel for the Florida Department of Management Services, where he led the agency’s Litigation Section, supervised a team of attorneys and staff, and advised the Secretary and executive leadership on significant legal, policy, and legislative matters. His career in public service also includes senior legal roles at the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and Florida A&M University, where he provided counsel on employment, procurement, and regulatory compliance issues.

Earlier in his career, Funmi served as law clerk to the Deputy Chief Justice of South Africa at the Constitutional Court of South Africa and completed a judicial internship with the Maryland Court of Appeals. His diverse legal background across government, academia, and international courts informs the depth and breadth of his advocacy on behalf of clients.
